It was a real pleasure to mentor Simon through this module and I could very clearly see the makings of a first-class future writer/director/showrunner.
First and foremost, Simon has excellent ideas and an understanding of what makes great television. He consistently challenged himself to make his ideas better and better and this very high standard that he sets himself will no doubt pay off in his work in the future. His strengths as a writer are across the table. He knows what makes a good story; his characters are complex, engaging and beautifully observed; and he has an excellent understanding of the building of tension and drama.

I had the chance to work closely with Simon as his manager, and it quickly became clear that he’s someone who picks things up fast and handles responsibility well. I was able to trust him with tasks that usually take much longer to delegate, not just because he’s capable, but because he takes ownership and follows through.
He didn’t just do well in his own department. Simon showed real initiative in supporting other parts of the production too, often stepping in during key moments to make sure things ran smoothly. That kind of flexibility and focus is rare.
